Even though we didn’t get to design physical objects like we usually do for the annual Pride parades (floats, banners, etc.), we did manage to collectively make something that represents all of Zendesk’s global regions. Our past themes include “Dream in Color’’, “Rise & Resist” and “Bloom.” Coming out of 2020, we knew we needed something aspirational and real, so we landed on “Love sparks justice.” This theme reflects on the fight for equality in the past and the work that needs to be done for the future. This year, Zendesk is sponsoring WorldPride Copenhagen 2021 and we designed our global theme by coming together and drawing on our iPads over Zoom. As a company that regards itself as being made by its people, when Pride comes around we try to avoid just sticking a bunch of rainbows on our logo and calling it a day. And if you know anything about Zendesk Design, you know we take theming very seriously □. The theme is the idea behind every campaign that we create - a way to join purpose and design - and what allows us to bring emotion to our work. As with any good celebration, there needs to be a good theme. Zendesk comes together every year to celebrate Pride, to honor the ongoing pursuit of equal justice for the LGBTQ community. So come with me on a magical blog journey where I tell you all about our concept and ALSO teach you how to make your very own pride portrait - I promise you’ll be very proud of yourself at the end. We are all artists! It just takes a few tools and a little help from your friends. But notice I didn’t say “you have to be an artist”. How did we do it, you ask? All you need, my friend, is an iPad. This year, our theme revolved around many different portraits - all of which our very own team created. We have a committee that helps plan multiple events and gives back to a number of related charities. Every year, Zendesk takes pride in…well, Pride.
